U.S. Department of Agriculture Selects Métier for Project Portfolio Management
Métier's WorkLenz Delivers IT Portfolio Management Discipline and Objective Investment Assessments to Meet USDA's Mandates for Improvement
Métier, Ltd, an innovator in statistical project portfolio management, today announced the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) as a new client. USDA will implement WorkLenz to deliver project portfolio management as part of the agency's Capital Planning and Investment Control (CPIC) process. As the initial step in this process, Métier is delivering a project portfolio management system for the Office of the CIO (OCIO).
WorkLenz will pinpoint areas for improvement, identify efficiency gains, and reveal hidden operational obstacles for USDA. The web-based software will provide a structure to manage USDA's portfolio with an integrated multi-level view. It will ultimately ease reporting to OMB while simultaneously providing project management. WorkLenz also provides capabilities for earned value management, measurable risk assessment and mitigation, and integrated cost, schedule and performance. WorkLenz is being implemented initially within USDA's OCIO. Subsequent rollout to USDA agencies is expected at the completion of this implementation.
"USDA's forward-thinking approach to managing their major IT investments makes the agency a natural fit for WorkLenz," said Douglas Clark, CEO of Métier. "As agencies strive to 'get to green,' they are forced to look at their projects in new ways. Our natural language approach to modeling and predicting project outcomes and our objective scoring for the 'select, control and evaluate' process will enable USDA to eliminate redundancies, consolidate their projects, and ensure appropriate funding in coming years."
