Métier CEO Named To Project Management Institute's Consensus Body
Douglas Clark chosen as only industry member to participate in standards selection process
Métier, Ltd., an innovator in statistical project portfolio management software and services, today announced that Métier CEO Douglas Clark has been named to the Project Management Institute's (PMI) Standards Consensus Body. PMI's standard-generating process is certified by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
Clark will join members of academia, government, management and consulting to comment and vote on crucial project management standards. Committed to process advancements in the project management industry, Clark also leads development of PMI's Practice Standard for Scheduling, slated for release in 2006.
"I am very honored and excited to participate with such incredibly talented people to ensure that the PMI standards process reflects the inclusiveness and integrity of our project management profession," said Clark. "I hope to bring a business and industry perspective that will contribute to comprehensive standards development and selection. As the leader of a software company, I recognize the importance of this standardization in enabling collaboration and growth."
The concept of a consensus body is a key component of the ANSI standards process, which includes consensus on a proposed standard by a group or 'consensus body' that includes representatives from materially affected and interested parties. The PMI Consensus Body is responsible for:
- Consensus on proposed American National Standards within PMI's authority;
- Consensus on standards proposed for designation as PMI Standards; and
- Consensus on other matters requiring PMI Standards Program Consensus Body action.
