Métier Announces WorkLenz Synchronization with Microsoft Project
New functionality in WorkLenz 4.4 allows schedules to be managed in Microsoft Project and predicted in WorkLenz
Métier, Ltd., an innovator in statistical project portfolio management software and services, today announced synchronization between WorkLenz and Microsoft Project. WorkLenz 4.4 synchronization capabilities allow managers to maintain schedules in Microsoft Project and take advantage of the predictive capabilities for the portfolio of projects in WorkLenz.
For the first time, executives can take advantage of a statistically comparable portfolio from WorkLenz without incurring any behavioral change in the organization. The new capability builds upon an organization's investment in Microsoft Project. Part of Métier's latest release, WorkLenz 4.4 ensures data integrity with synchronization with Microsoft Project 2002 and all later releases. Built on Microsoft's .NET framework, WorkLenz interacts with Project via XML.
"The WorkLenz synchronization with Project is exactly the interoperability we're looking for in Microsoft partners," said Giovanni Mezgec, group product manager of the Project Business Unit at Microsoft. "Métier provides clients the ability to remain in Microsoft Project for schedule management, but take advantage of the WorkLenz predictive capability applied to these schedules. The synchronization creates a feedback loop that will help Microsoft and Métier clients improve performance and more efficiently manage projects."
WorkLenz 4.4 also extends the ability to manage with greater depth with its new nested phases capability. Nested phases allow WorkLenz to effortlessly support more diverse WBS structures across the portfolio. Further extending the functionality of WorkLenz, Métier clients can also send WorkLenz report outputs directly to Microsoft Excel. Métier clients can now utilize WorkLenz data in new views, taking advantage of Excel's spreadsheet and formula capabilities.
